Give that guy the gong

Since Anne's keyboard computer hasn't been working, she's been playing a real gong instead of a keyboard sample. Tonight she invited Patrick, the company manager, to play the gong in the one piece in which it appears. She told him to take a good whack at it; unfortunately, he's a strong guy, and produced a shattering crash that provoked one musician to ask, "Did he use a baseball bat?"
