Why drive when you can take the Pedway?
Chicago's downtown has an amazing system of underground concourses, which they call the Pedway. You can walk from our hotel six blocks underground to Millenium Park.
I've seen many a large person walk from the foot ferry debarcation through to the various government and private buildings using the elevators to go up the hill downtown instead of using the sidewalks. And they stay dry, too, but that's not really the point, I think.
I assume Chicagoans are trying not to lose nosetips and such to the weather?
1 Comments:
- similar system in Seattle, but not as defined.
