Marooned in Denver

This is the counter at Hannah's, the coffeehouse where I've already been four times in two days. I had an extended conversation with this woman(Heather). She said, "Don't be fooled. Denver is very provincial. Phantom of the Opera would do very well here." (She's from Portland.) She made a catty comment about Cathy Rigby's "figure-skater" hairstyle. She explained, "I was raised by drag queens."
She asked me if the show was still going to go on despite the snow. I said, "I figure that here in Denver you would know how to handle this." She said, "I was thinking of the people driving in to see the show from Wyoming and Kansas."
