Overweight

The Denver airport is so big that it has its own subway.
I didn't have to wait long for my first crisis. When I went to the America West checkin booth in Sacramento, the woman told me my suitcase was 14 pounds overweight. I opened up the suitcase and started looking for things I could abandon or transfer to another bag. Jennifer's mouth dropped open when she saw all the electronic toys, wires, and tools I had brought. "One thing I don't see," she added, "is clothes."
Eventually I got the weight down to 49.5 pounds and could continue.
I definitely brought too much stuff. Usually, I pack at the last minute and end up forgetting a lot of things. This time, I spent weeks packing and kept adding more things. Posted by Hello

Mark: Can we see a list of the things jettisoned from the bag?

. . . and a list of the items retained, and perhaps a select set of reasons behind their retention/expulsion?

I think that blogs demand such lists as a matter of form. I look forward to the list with the relish of someone who has never been on the Denver airport subway - and, who vows, from now on, only to read this blog while sitting in a cubicle in a building filled with cubicles.
