The day the music died

I made a special trip to DePaul University to revisit the Music Mart, a special mall on the first floor and basement where every store was some kind of music shop. One store, I remembered, specialized in string basses. But no more. As of two months ago, they ended the Music Mart. They haven't changed the name, but all the storefronts are either restaurants, classrooms, or vacant.
